FUNDING THE FUND
Many people wanted to give money in memory of Laura.
Apart from several generous individual donations since the Fund was set up in 2003, its income only comes from a series of fundraising events.
In 2007 The Butterfly Walk raised £5,000 - in 2008 it raised £7,000.
Laura's Third Butterfly Ball in 2007 raised £17,000 on the the night - the Trustees are hoping to raise £20,000 this year at Laura's Fourth Butterfly Ball on 10 October 2008 at The Landmark, London - please join us.

A glamorous occasion at London’s Intercontinental Hotel
Over 200 people gathered together for a terrific evening - and raised almost £20,000 on the night. Stars from Holby City and The Bill joined family and friends in The Ballroom of the Intercontinental Hotel. During dinner, guests were brilliantly entertained by a group of students from the Sylvia Young Theatre School. Les Dennis ran the auction and Hugh Quarshie from Holby City paid tribute to Laura.

Laura’s Butterfly Ball
October 2006
The second Butterfly Ball was held in the beautiful ballroom of The Landmark Hotel on Friday 6 October 2006, attended by over 200 people - a very happy occasion. The setting looked fantastic with flowers designed by Jackie Arnold of Simply Flowers.
Dick Smith, Town Crier of Beaconsfield, acted as MC, with Les Dennis sharing the honours of the auction with Jeremy Edwards. Many thanks to those who donated some great auction items and prizes for the raffle. The Barrow of Booze was a great success and raised almost £1,500 alone. Overall over £16,000 was raised on the night.
It was a special treat to see the students from the Sylvia Young Theatre School perform one of their cabaret turns - they were terrific.

Stars from Holby City came to support the evening and enjoyed the cabaret
