Meet some of the young people the Fund has helped
The Fund aims to provide practical and financial support to give young actors and actresses the opportunity to realise their dreams.
Awards range from £250 to £5,000.
So far awards have been made to 24 young people.
The students come from the Sylvia Young Theatre School, The Bridge, RADA, E15 and LAMDA. Two special awards have been made to The Factory, for special educational projects, and Enigma Dance.
In 2007 the Fund was able to award over £28,000 - thanks to the monies raised by its supporters.
Here are some comments from some of the talented young people the Fund had helped:
“I am humbled and very thankful for the award to assist with my fees at The Bridge. The trust you have shown to support me is immense and life changing. You are helping me to achieve and live my dreams. Your kindness will not be forgotten or misplaced.”
“When I was first accepted into East 15 I knew that without support there would be no way I could afford to train for the full 3 years. Now thanks solely to your help, I have managed to finance the completion of my first year and now the full second year tuition fees. It means I can dedicate even more of my attention and effort to what I am here for and train with peace of mind.”
“I also wanted to thank you for accepting my previous application and sponsoring me further, it has been a tremendous support and with the upcoming full time rehearsals we’ll need the extra finances to cover the communications support.”
